They are not used to heat rope, and they are more the size of string than actual rope, but everyone in the business still calls them "rope heaters." Whatever you call them, rope heaters are used for defrosting, as tube heaters, coil heaters, barrel or pipe heaters. We’ve been making wire wound products for over 20 years. The same high quality technology used to make LGM wire wound ignition core works perfectly for making spiral wound rope heaters. Tell us what you need, send design requirements or forward us a copy of your drawings. As a custom winding company, we make it your way.
LGM is ISO-9001-2008 approved for the design and manufacture of wire wound products. We understand that design work and prototyping can require custom winding in very limited lengths. We will work with you to make sure your prototype meets your needs, and the needs of your customer. Basic design consultation is available at no additional charge. Reasonable rates apply for those needing more intensive design assistance. Assembly is not our specialty (we’re primarily custom winders), but some assembly may be available for prototypes and manufacturing runs at our nearby sister facility.
“The rate of the flow of the current is equal to electromotive force divided by resistance.” Ohms Law is the basis for all rope heater designs. We’ll work with you to manipulate the parameters and create the product you need. Use your design “as is,” or connect a potentiometer, temperature control or rheostat to control the output.
